I was excited to see a Sativa dominant hybrid during my trip to One Plant. I've always reached for indicas, but lately, I find myself drawn to Sativas for a little extra boost. I purchased an 1/8th, or 3.5g, for $42. Ebony & Ivory is a strain created by Swamp Boy Seeds. It is a cross of The White and Nigerian (hence, the name). The buds of this organically grown flower are medium sized & covered in trichomes (that frosty goodness). Upon opening the jar, I was hit with an earthy, nutty aroma. One Plant originates from California and I couldn't be happier to see they are bringing their clean aesthetic & welcoming vibe to Florida. When you walk into their dispensary in Boynton Beach, the feeling is immediately different than other dispensaries. It is more of a retail experience, featuring a completely open space that is flooded with natural light and fresh flowers sprinkled throughout. (Read more by clicking the photo above.)

Transdermal means that cannabinoids, in this case 1:1 CBD and THC, are actually delivered to the bloodstream vs sitting on top of the skin. This is done with an absorbing agent, in this case, ethanol (alcohol). The patches are applied to an area where your skin is thin and veiny, such as your ankle, wrist or lower back. Muv has several options for cartridges. I found the Pure cartridge fit my existing pen, so this is the one I decided to go with. I was happy to see it is solvent-free, and only contains distillate with cannabis-derived and all natural terpenes, providing full spectrum benefits. Blueberry is one of my favorite strains, so I was excited to try it in a concentrate. As I suspected, the concentrate isn't quite as effective for me as the whole flower, but it is still a decent alternative if you have to be discrete, or whole flower isn't your thing. Trichomes are tiny little crystals that cover the leaves, buds, stems, & stalks of cannabis. Under a microscope, trichomes (from the Greek word “Tríchōma,” meaning “growth of hair”) have a mushroom-like appearance & look like something out of a science fiction novel. Inside each trichrome is a little factory that produces "the good stuff" - a viscous oil that contains hundreds of cannabinoids, terpenes, & flavonoids that make our favorite cannabis strains potent, unique, & effective. Velvet Glove is an Indica-dominant Hybrid (70% indica, 30% sativa). It is a cross between GMO Cookies and Nookies. The first thing I noticed about this flower was the smell. The strain is particularly fragrant. The pungent aroma is similar to Sour Diesel, but with a citric, sweet twist. Velvet Glove is said to leave you feeling happy, relaxed, and focused. It is a gentle indica-dominate strain in that it doesn't make you feel overly sleepy. (Read more by clicking the photo above.)

When I heard the name of this strain, I knew I had to try it! It sounded like the perfect pairing for a Florida girl. Citradelic Sunset is a 50/50 hybrid, even though it is labeled by Muv as a Sativa. The first thing I noticed is the lime green hue of the buds. When you search cartridges on Trulieve's website, there a lot of options. Regardless, no matter what concentrate you choose, you can be sure there are no cutting agents like MCT oil (coconut oil). I decided to go with the Jack Herer CO2 Vape Sativa cartridge. The stain is named after a marijuana activist and author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes.
