Muv has several options for cartridges. They have disposable pens, cartridges that fit the G Pen, and their Pure cartridges. I found the Pure cartridge fit my existing pen, so this is the one I decided to go with. I was happy to see it is solvent-free, and only contains distillate with cannabis-derived and all natural terpenes, providing full spectrum benefits.
I also like that the cartridge itself is a Ceramic Cell (CCell®), which means the internal heating elements are ceramic vs wick-based coils. This not only provides maximum flavor, it is also a lot safer than heating and reheating internal metal components. I purchased a 500 mg cartridge of Blueberry for $50.
Blueberry is one of my favorite strains, so I was excited to try it in a concentrate. As I suspected, the concentrate isn’t quite as effective for me as the whole flower, but it is still a decent alternative if you have to be discrete, or whole flower isn’t your thing. This particular batch is 405.2 mg of THC and 4.8 mg of CBD. This puts it at 81% THC and .9% CBD. Blueberry is a well known indica. The long history of the strain goes back to the late 1970s and breeder DJ Short, often dubbed the “Willy Wonka of pot.”
Blueberry is known for its unmistakable fresh blueberry taste. Unfortunately, this is something the cartridge was lacking and I missed those sweet flavors. While Muv does not list the terpenes added back into the distillate, typically Blueberry contains Caryophyllene, Myrcene and Pinene.
Often described as a “one hit and quit” strain, Blueberry is notably potent, even for experienced cannabis consumers like myself. The strain provides a quick physical heaviness, making it a great option for unwinding after a long day or week. More than a handful of inhalations, and Blueberry will leave you feeling heavy and couch-locked. As a result, I do not recommend this strain for daytime use, if you have to be productive, or if you are new to cannabis. A little bit of Blueberry goes a long way and its high is said to last longer than average.
Medically speaking, Blueberry is known to be good for pain, and can also help relieve symptoms of stress, anxiety and PTSD. It creates a physical relaxation strong enough to calm your body and settle a racing mind. Most notably, Blueberry can also induce a deep and lasting sleep to help with insomnia.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to Las Vegas for the CBD.io show. I was surprised how quickly I adjusted to Pacific time (3 hours behind Florida). However, when I got home, the transition wasn’t as easy. I found it difficult to get to sleep at a reasonable hour and I was extra groggy in the morning. Normally, I reach for an edible to help with sleep issues, but they made it even harder to wake up. Instead, I used my Blueberry Pure Cartridge and it was exactly what I needed. While I had to take a few more inhalations than I would with whole flower, it didn’t take long to feel the strain’s relaxing effects. My thoughts quieted, and my body soon followed. I was able to fall asleep, and stay asleep, but didn’t have any residual effects the next day. I will always prefer whole flower, but as a concentrate, this is a great option.
