I chose Islamorada strictly because of the name. My dad was stationed in the Keys in the Navy, my brother was born there, & I grew up going to Key Largo every weekend. The Keys are dear to my heart, so why wouldn't I want to try a heavy indica honoring this beloved place?? Choosing cannabis based on the name of the strain doesn't always go well, but this was a happy exception.

Vanilla Berry Pie by One Plant
To be honest, I bought this strain because of the name, and its sweetness, in both taste and effect, lives up to the expectation. Vanilla Berry Pie (VBP) is an indica dominate hybrid. I purchased on 1/8th, or 3.5g for $42. VBP is a cross between Magnum Opus 11th Gen. Royal Kush x Cherry Pie Kush x Sunset Sherbert. As with all of One Plant's flower, VBP is organically grown. Blueberry Concentrate by Muv
Muv has several options for cartridges. I found the Pure cartridge fit my existing pen, so this is the one I decided to go with. I was happy to see it is solvent-free, and only contains distillate with cannabis-derived and all natural terpenes, providing full spectrum benefits. Blueberry is one of my favorite strains, so I was excited to try it in a concentrate. As I suspected, the concentrate isn't quite as effective for me as the whole flower, but it is still a decent alternative if you have to be discrete, or whole flower isn't your thing. Velvet Glove by Muv
Velvet Glove is an Indica-dominant Hybrid (70% indica, 30% sativa). It is a cross between GMO Cookies and Nookies. The first thing I noticed about this flower was the smell. The strain is particularly fragrant. The pungent aroma is similar to Sour Diesel, but with a citric, sweet twist. Velvet Glove is said to leave you feeling happy, relaxed, and focused. It is a gentle indica-dominate strain in that it doesn't make you feel overly sleepy. (Read more by clicking the photo above.)
9lb Hammer by Trulieve
When the budtender described this strain, he told me it was the one to grab if nothing else is working. So, of course I purchased 1/8th. This strain is named 9 Pound Hammer for a reason. Almost immediately, you are hit with the effects of heavy-duty sedation. I was energized and ready to write, but after a few inhalations of 9 lb Hammer, I was on the couch and ready to close my eyes. Indica vs Sativa
Cannabis is broken into 2 species: Cannabis indica & Cannabis sativa. Back in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, both evolved in isolated locations, developing distinct characteristics in how they look and how they make you feel when consumed. When you walk into a dispensary, one of the first questions asked is if you prefer indicas or sativas. However, today, scientists and cannabis experts agree that this way of categorizing the euphoric effect of marijuana, based on genetics, is simply untrue. (Read more by clicking the photo above.)
Bubba Kush Pod by Liberty Health
Liberty Health has partnered with The Werc Shop to produce some of their Pax Era Pod concentrates. When you see a Werc Shop logo on a product, you know it is quality. The concentrate I tried was Bubba Kush. This particular batch was 83.8% THC and .9% CBD. Bubba Kush is a full Indica, my favorite! This means it has a heavy sedating effect.
