Jack Herer Cartridge by Trulieve

When you search cartridges on Trulieve’s website, there a lot of options. There are TruPods, O.penVape Reserve, CO2 Vape and just good ‘ole Vape Pen cartridges. Most concentrates vary based on the cartridge itself. For example, the TruPods are only compatible with the TruSTIK vaporizer. The O.pen Vape Reserve are only compatible with the O.pen. Each cartridge has its own unique construction properties that supposedly set it apart from the rest (i.e no concentrate is wasted or left behind, leak proof, ect.) The other differentiating factor is how the flower is concentrated (CO2 vs other methods) and if it just the cannabinoids, or also contains terpenes and flavanoids. Regardless, with Trulieve, no matter what concentrate you choose, you can be sure there are no cutting agents like MCT oil (coconut oil).

I already have more vaporizers (aka pens) than I can count, so I decided to go with the CO2 Vape Sativa cartridge, $55 for 400g, that is compatible with my current setup. I chose this particular one over the standard vape cartridge for a couple of reasons.

First, the CO2 cartridges are part of Trulieve’s Entourage line. This means that the concentrate not only contains cannabiods, but also cannabis derived terpenes, providing full spectrum benefits. My motto is to stick as close to the whole flower as possible. The other reason I chose the CO2 cartridge is because of the way the concentrate was extracted. In my opinion, CO2 extraction creates the purest, cleanest, highest medicinal quality oil vs other methods like butane and alcohol.

The stain I went with is Jack Herer. This particular batch is 84.5% THC, .3% CBD. This strain is named after a marijuana activist and author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes. It is a very well known, popular day-time, sativa-dominate strain. It was created by combining a Haze hybrid with Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk.  This strain is said to produce a clear-headed euphoric effect, coupled with a boost of focused, creative energy.

The terpenes present in this strain are Caryophyllene, Pinene and Terpinolene. Terpinolene is found most commonly in sativa-dominant strains, with a particularly high concentration in Jack Herer. Terpinolene is also found in apples and nutmeg. It is said to have anticancer, antioxidant and antibacterial properties.

Typically, vapes and concentrates give me a strange head buzz and the result is not at all the same as flower. However, I really noticed a difference in the euphoric effect of this concentrate. I consumed this cartridge while shopping on a Sunday afternoon in Miami. While it did take more than a few inhalations, I quickly noticed a pleasant, appreciative feeling wash over me. I was relaxed but still clear headed and focused. It made weaving in and out of foot traffic, stores and lunch a stress free adventure. It was the perfect balance and strain for the moment.

While concentrates are not my preferred method of consumption, they serve a purpose in that they are good to use in conspicuous places. I’m always on the quest for the right one. I may have found it! I think the full spectrum oil made quite a difference, and is the closest thing I’ll get to a joint when out and about.
