Bubba Kush Pod by Liberty Health

Liberty Health has partnered with The Werc Shop to produce some of their Pax Era Pod concentrates. When you see a Werc Shop logo on a product, you know it is quality. The Werc Shop was founded in 2010 by Dr. Raber. Dr. Raber received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Southern California with a focus on developing synthetic organic methodologies. He is an accomplished scientist and patented inventor who saw a need for quality control and assurance in California’s Medical Cannabis arena. He reacted with a formulated concept for an analytical testing laboratory. Fast forward, and today The Werc Shop is dedicated to assisting licensed cannabis businesses innovate & produce high quality cannabis products. The Ph.D’s and scientists working for and backing The Werc Shop have over 100 years of combined experience studying cannabis and formulating products. There is no question why LHS partnered with them to create their Pax Era Pods.

The concentrate I tried was Bubba Kush. This particular batch was 83.8% THC and .9% CBD. (Due to the high concentration of THC, this is definitely not the product for a novice patient.) The POD is 400 mg of concentrate, and cost $70. Bubba Kush is a full Indica, my favorite! This means it has a heavy sedating effect. However, before that is felt, Bubba Kush’s high begins with a warped, disoriented sensation in the head. I typically do not have anxiety when I consume cannabis, but this one definitely triggered some feelings of unease (about a 2 out of 10). After taking a few deep breaths, the fogginess lifted, and I felt more of the expected body relaxation. Even so, I still did not feel “couch lock” (you do not want to move off the couch), like you can with other Indicas. I save Indicas for the evening, and expected to quickly fall asleep. However, I stayed alert and was able to concentrate more than I usually would with an Indica. After a few more inhales, I slowly gave in and felt my muscles relax, my mind quiet and calmness take over. This is a euphoric feeling you have to settle into to really appreciate it.

The flavor of Bubba Kush is earthy, with a hint of sweet. The taste is something I definitely noticed & enjoyed with this cartridge. You can tell the terpenes were left intact, creating a delightful taste. This strain has a large variety of terpenes present, with higher concentrations of Beta-Caryophyllene, Limonene and Alpha-Bisabolol. Caryophyllene, unlike other terpenes, has the ability to bind and interact with CB2 receptors. This means it doesn’t cause euphoric feelings, but it provides many of the same benefits of THC, like reducing inflammation. Limonene is an aromatic cannabis terpene produced in the flower’s resin glands. With dry, whole flower, Bubba Kush can be extra pungent as a result. Little is known about how Limonene works in the brain and body, as more testing is needed. So far, it has shown potential to improve absorption of other terpenes and chemicals by way of the skin, mucous membranes, and digestive tract, along with helping relieve heartburn and gastric reflux. Alpha-Bisabolol is said to be an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-microbial.

Overall, I enjoyed this strain and POD. I do want to try the whole, dried flower to compare the effects. Sometimes concentrates give me more of a head high, so I’m curious if I would feel the same effects mentioned above with the flower. This is a different Indica than I am used to, but one I welcome into my bag of tricks.
